Retired WestRock Master Machinist Dies At Age 60

Richard Lewis (Ricky) Terrell, Jr., age 60, of 7015 Potts Creek Road, Covington, Virginia died Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Johns Hopkins University Medical Center, Baltimore, Maryland.

Ricky was born May 16, 1960 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to Richard Lewis Terrell, Sr. and Jane Downey Terrell.

He was a 1978 graduate of Alleghany County High School.

He was a Master Machinist and retired foreman at WestRock.

He was a member of Low Moor Presbyterian Church.

He loved cars and was a fan of NASCAR, the New York Yankees, and the Dallas Cowboys.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John Terrell.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Lynn Sharp Terrell of Covington; Richard and Jane of Valley Ridge, Covington; a daughter, Shana May Hatzopoulos of Portsmouth; a son, John David Terrell and wife, Ashley of Covington; a sister, Tricia Patterson and husband, Gene of Kennesaw, GA; a brother, Kevin Terrell and wife, Heather of Covington; three grandchildren, Nicolas Hatzopoulos, Christina Terrell, and Brianna Terrell; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is handling arrangements.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Clifton Forge Area Food Pantry, P. O. Box 361, Clifton Forge, VA 24422 or to the Low Moor Presbyterian Church, 204 Old Church Road, Low Moor, VA 24457.
