Ronald O_Brian Layne, 71, of Stuarts Draft, Virginia, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021.

Born July 8, 1949 in Rockbridge County, he was the son of the late Elmer O'Brian Layne and Glenidene E. Cash Layne.

Ronald served in the Vietnam War in the U. S. Marine Corps.

He was a loved and well-known musician.

Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Millie V. Layne; children, Missy Truslow (Bear), Jerry Layne, Beth Stribling (Jamie), Matthew Layne (Tiffany), Adona Mays, and D. J. Payne (Caitlin); a beloved grandchild, Kyler Layne; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Carolyn Layne Creasy (Jerry) and Brenda Farris (Gary).

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 16 at Green Hill Cemetery with Pastor Butch Grow officiating.

Masks and social distancing are required.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
