Louise Henson Newcomer, 78, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Johnston Willis Hospital in Richmond.

Born July 1, 1942 in Buena Vista, she was a daughter of the late Lonnie Lee Henson and Effie Lee Gilbert Henson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Brian E. Chittum, and a great-grandson, Noah A. Henson.

She was a member of the Buena Vista Baptist Church, and retired from Lowe's.

Surviving are husband, William P. Newcomer; children, Pamela C. Weiss, Larry D. Chittum, Nicole S. Fitzgerald (Chris Mays), Krystal N. Campbell (Jessica Carter), Janice A. Newcomer (Dough McGuire), and Nancy N. Hartless (David Hartless); grandchildren, Amanda Hite, April Chittum, Brandon Watkins, Kristen Roberts, Danielle Coffey, Russ Coffey, Hailey Fitzgerald, Hunter Fitzgerald, Kaitlyn Lelugas, Ashley Sandman, Brandon Sandman, Seth Chittum, Ashley Rainelli, Michael Rainelli, Shona Chittum, Christopher Mays Jr., Peyton Mays, and Landon Mays; 19 great-grandchildren and one on the way, Sutton Grace, and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 20 at Green Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Bryon Le Pere officiating. Masks are required.
