Obituary for Annie Belle Fields Annie Belle Fields
Hot Springs Native Was Glasgow Resident

Annie Belle Fields, 93, of Glasgow, Virginia, died Monday, March 8, 2021 at Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital.

Born March 3, 1928 in Hot Springs, she was a daughter of the Rev. George Walter Bolden and Helen Burke Bolden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Winston Fields; and a daughter, Marguerite Augusta Fields.

Mrs. Fields was a member of Union Baptist Church where she was a Deaconess, and a member of OES Ellen Early Chapter 209.

She was part of the first graduating class of Lyburn Downing High School where she was the first homecoming queen.

She retired from Natural Bridge High School cafeteria after many years, and was employed during the summer at the Natural Bridge Learning Center.

Surviving are her sons, Clifford D. Fields of Washington, D.C., and Leon W. Fields and Russell L. Fields, both of Glasgow; sister, Barbara Bolden Davis of Lynchburg; a brother, the Rev. George R. Bolden of Ellenwood, Ga.; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery in Glasgow by Dr. Horace Rice.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Order of the Eastern Star.
