Obituary for Walter Samuel Campbell II Walter Samuel Campbell II
Served In The U. S. Navy; Retired Senior Technician & Service Representative For Elliot Corp.

Walter Samuel Campbell II, age 76, of of 2804 Valley Ridge Road, Covington, Virginia, died Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, Virginia.

Walter was born January 23, 1945 in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, to the late Walter Samuel Campbell, Sr. and Thelma Robeck Campbell.

He served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Charles F. Adams and the U. S. S. Tattnall. He was a retired Senior Technician and Service Representative for Elliot Corporation, having worked there for 37 years.

He loved guns and shooting, never met a stranger, and was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan since the 1950's.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Campbell McCoy and a grandson, Christopher Campbell.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Suzanne "Sue" DeCook Campbell of Valley Ridge, Covington; two daughters, Vicki Graham and friend, Stanley Pullins, of Roanoke and Tracey Brie and friend, John Paul "J.P." Brewster, of Selma; a son-in-law, Jeff McCoy of Selma; a brother, Pat Campbell and wife, Gloria, of Youngstown, PA; ten grandchildren, Bobby McCoy, Walter McCoy, Jacob Gump, Taylor Armentrout, Samuel Armentrout, Courtney Franklin (Dillon Dunbar), Brittany Graham, Brian Graham, Hunter Graham, and Jordan Graham (Stuart Simmons); one great granddaughter, Julianna Simmons; and two nieces and two nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Father Tom Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor.

Walter's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.
