Obituary for Edwin Pierce Flesher Edwin Pierce Flesher
U. S. Air Force Korean War Veteran Was Modine Retiree

Edwin Pierce Flesher, 91, of Staunton, Virginia, husband of Ann (Humphries) Flesher, went to his final reward on April 13, 2021.

Mr. Flesher was born on February 20, 1930 in McDowell, a son of the late George W. and Grace (Chew) Flesher.

Edwin was known to family and friends as Eddie, Ed, Dad, Pop and Paw-Paw.

He was a proud veteran of the U. S. Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict. Edwin was a member of the American Legion, a life member of the VFW, holding various positions, and was a member of Annex United Methodist Church.

After retirement from Modine Mfg. in Buena Vista, he enjoyed boating on the Rappahannock River, gardening and woodworking. He was always ready to offer his knowledge when there was a "handy-man" job.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 66 years are three children, Victoria "Vicki" Hodges (Tim) of Lexington, Edwin Jr. (Kimberley) of Staunton and Jane Ann Franklin (Bob) of Richmond. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Mark Hodges (fiancée, Katelyn Ferguson) and Ruthann Anderson (Jared), Eric, Brianna, and Lattinia Flesher, Katherine Grubbs (Daniel) and Sarah Tate; and two great-grandchildren, Rosaleigh Ruth Hodges and Charlotte Ann Grubbs. Also surviving is his sister, Margaret Rose Whitmore of Bridgewater Retirement Home.

At his request, Edwin will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, at Annex United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton, is in charge of his arrangements.
