Obituary for Wanda Louise Wheeler Wanda Louise Wheeler
Buena Vista Resident Dies At Age 70

Wanda Louise Wheeler, surrounded by loved ones, peacefully went home to be with Jesus on April 22, 2021.

Wanda was born to Sam Matthew and Frances Flint Wheeler on June 13, 1950.

As a child she spent a lot of time playing ball outside with her siblings, cousins, and friends. Wanda also played city league softball for many years.

Wanda loved fiercely and was a nurturing caregiver by nature. She spent her life caring for younger siblings, nieces, nephews, and countless youth as a pediatric certified nurse's assistant at UVA's Kluge Children's Rehabilitation Center.

Wanda was preceded in death by her father, her mother, and her brothers, John "Booster" (Donna) and George (Florence) Wheeler. She was reunited in Heaven with her special Angel, newborn son, Samuel Matthew William Wheeler.

Wanda's sacrifices for her family were innumerable and will continue to be honored through the lives of those who remain here including her sisters, Brenda Johnson, Dawn Wheeler, Nannie Johnson (Tommy), Kaye Ramsey (Sammy), and Laura Williams. She was absolutely in love with her nieces, nephews, and their families. Wanda will be missed by Mark Wheeler (Mitzi, Lucas, Adam (Ali) Jace, Eli), Leslie Cash (Bridgete and Taylorann), Tasha Renfro (Brian, Ryan (Kierre and River), Samantha, Jordan, Trey), Clarissa Griffin (Jonathan, Elijah, Isaac, Samuel), Matthew Wheeler (Angela), Brandon Johnson, Jonathan Wheeler (Taylor and Bowen), Tommy Johnson (Hannah, Abram, Madeline), Jordan Ramsey (Christina, Logan, Katie), and Olivia Williams.

A memorial service was conducted Sunday, April 25, 2021 at the Vista Links clubhouse, with Pastor Grow and Pastor Tommy Johnson officiating.

Arrangements were handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
