Former CSX Carman, Was Bath County Public Schools Bus Driver, Horeb Baptist Church Member

Everett Jackson Black, 91, of Millboro, Virginia passed away Friday, July 2, 2021 at his residence.

He was born December 2, 1929 in Bath County, Virginia, the son of the late Emory Cecil Black and Emma Irene Johnson.

Mr. Black retired from CSX Railroad where he worked for many years as a carman and also drove a school bus for Bath County Public Schools.

He was a member of the Horeb Baptist Church and was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, and spending time with his family.

He was married to the late Eleanora Josephine Reynolds Black, who preceded him in death on January 16, 2018.

Surviving are three children, Dianne Mynes of Clifton Forge, Timothy Lee Black and wife, Charmain of Millboro, Jay Stewart Black and wife, Linda of Millboro; four grandchildren, Jason Pauley and fiancé, Alyson Coffman, Jeffrey Black, Nathan Black and wife, Lauren, Aubrey Black and special friend, Kylee Hall; three great grandchildren, Sydney, Jett, and Collins Black; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin and James Black.

A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Horeb Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Rollins officiating and Reverend Steven Markem assisting. Interment will be in the Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons.

The family will receive friends at the home of Timmy and Charmaine Black, 4640 Cowpasture Highway, Millboro, on Monday evening from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Millboro Area Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 295, Millboro Virginia, 24460.
