Former Danville Mental Health Aide Was Low Moor Resident

Mrs. June Carol Thomas Lewis, age 73, of Low Moor, Virginia, went to be with Jesus, Saturday, July 17, 2021 at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor.

She was the wife of Rev. Steve Jackson Lewis.

Mrs. Lewis was born June 16, 1948 in Crisfield, MD, the daughter of the late George M. Thomas and Rissie Crockett Thomas.

She was employed as a mental health aide by Danville Social Services where June loved working with and counseling people with mental conditions.

A resident of this community for fifteen years, she was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Lewis is survived by her daughter, Holli Lewis-Hoffman of Staunton; a grandson, Stephen Gage Hoffman; a great grandchild, Espen Kai Beverage; a brother, George Thomas of Staunton; and two sisters, Laura Duncan of Conway, NC and Joyce Souper.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by a brother, John Thomas.

A private memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
