Obituary for David Wilson Riley, Sr. David Wilson Riley, Sr.
Vietnam Marine Corps Veteran Was Retired Equipment Operator

David Wilson Riley, Sr., age 71, of 5102 42 Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Friday, July 30, 2021 at his residence.

He was born June 15, 1950 in Clifton Forge, to the late John Riley, Sr. and Lillie Mae Smith Riley.

He was a retired equipment operator for New River Electric.

He served his country as a United States Marine in Vietnam and later in the United States Army Reserve.

David enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially watching war movies on television.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. St. Clair Riley of Clifton Forge; a daughter, Brenda Ann Riley of Selma, Virginia; a son, David Wilson Riley, Jr. of Clifton Forge; a sister, Catherine Presley of Kingsport, Tennessee; a brother, John Riley, Jr. and wife, Susan of Clifton Forge; six grandchildren, Angel Andrews, Christopher Riley, Matthew Riley, Emily Riley, Abigael Riley and Lillie Brie; his special canine friends, Dixie and Goldie and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service is scheduled for a later date.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, handled the arrangements.
