Sandra Fridley Kirk, age 70, of 109 White Rock Gap Road, Covington, Virginia died Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem.

Sandra was born September 19, 1950 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late James Tavender Fridley, Sr. and Lillian Kitt Fridley.

She was a cook for Central Elementary School, worked for Bacova, and was a homemaker throughout her life.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, taking care of her property, caring for her animals, and loved tending to her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, J. T. Fridley, Jr. and Willie Fridley.

She is survived by her husband, J. Roger Kirk of Covington; two sons, J. R. Kirk of Culpeper and James Kirk of Herndon; six sisters, Judy Craft, Jean Dotson, Jewel Bruster, Darlene Bruster, Susie Bowen, and Vicki DePriest; four brothers, Phillip Fridley, Paul Fridley, Bobby Fridley, and Gordon Fridley; a grandson, Alex Kirk; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Michael Fisher and Pastor Shane Hiner officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jerry Roger Kirk, Jr., James A. Kirk, Rob Fridley, Tommy DePriest, Tommy DePriest, Jr., and Phil Fridley. The family will receive friends on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
