Catherine Spencer Humphreys, 91, formerly of Covington, Virginia, died Saturday, September 11, 2021, at the Richfield Recovery and Care Center in Salem.

Mrs. Humphreys was born May 17, 1930 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Gordon and Louise Lockhart Lunsford.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Ferguson Humphreys.

She retired as a Dietary Supervisor for the Richfield Nursing Center in Salem. She was a member of the Humphreys Chapel UMC and the Central Methodist Church in Salem as well as a ladies auxiliary member of the Paint Bank Volunteer Fire Department.

In keeping with her wishes her body has been cremated.

Surviving are many cousins and close friends.

A private service will be conducted at a later date.

The funeral arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
