David Franklin Steele Jr., 93, of Fairfield, Virginia, died Saturday, September 11, 2021 at The Mayflower.

Born October 1, 1927 in Rockbridge County, he was a son of David Franklin Steele and Jessie Marin Chittum Steele.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frona Day Steele, and a brother, Ralph Steele.

Mr. Steele was a member of Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church, and a Mason. He served his country in the U. S. Navy during World War II and later in the U.S. Coast Guard.

Surviving are his son, Michael Hol, and a brother, Harold Steele.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 14 at New Providence Presbyterian Cemetery by the Rev. Loren Tate Mitchell.
