Clifton Forge Native Dies At Age 58

Lisa Epperly Clark, age 58, of 707 N. Beverly Ave, Covington, Virginia died peacefully on Friday, October 1, 2021 at LewisGale Hospital – Alleghany, Low Moor, Virginia.

Lisa was born March 25, 1963 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to Maxine M. Epperly and the late Charles L. Epperly.

She worked various jobs throughout her life, but found her greatest joy and pleasure in being Momma Bear to her three children. There has never been a more kind-hearted, giving, loving, empathetic person on this planet. She also enjoyed photography, taking care of her plants, and crafting.

She was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, James Brenton "Brent" Clark of Covington; her mother, Maxine Epperly of Covington; her mother-in-law, Mollie Clark of Millboro; two daughters, Mary Vales and husband, Patrick of Powhatan and Elisabeth "Beth" Clark and significant other, Jon Manning of Richmond; a son, Josh Clark and fiancée, Jalon Scruggs of Salem; two sisters, Sharon Bartley and husband, Kevin of Powhatan and Angie Caldwell of Covington; a brother, John Epperly and wife, Junessa of Stuarts Draft; two step granddaughters, Tori Critzer and Ember Gray; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Bill Hartsfield officiating. Following the service, Lisa's body will be cremated. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association.
