Sue Swanson Hotinger, 83, of Lexington, Virginia, died Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital.

Born March 23, 1938 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of George Wesley Swanson and Jane Maria Shields Swanson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Rice Hotinger.

She was a member of New Monmouth Presbyterian Church and was also a member of the Kerrs Creek Ruritan Club, Shenandoah Valley Balloon Association and Presbyterian Women.

Surviving are her children, Joan H. Miller, Julie H. Crowder, Jeannette H. Houghton and Donald R. Hotinger; sister, Jean Swanson Beard; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 5, at New Monmouth Presbyterian Cemetery by the Rev. Rachel Clark.
