Carolyn Mason Claytor, 79, of Buena Vista, Virginia, passed away Friday, November 19, 2021.

She was born September 27, 1942 in Rockbridge County, the daughter of the late Harve and Mamie Wheeler Mason.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Claytor; two sisters, Lois Harlacher and Mary Thorne; and brothers, Freddy, Edward, Wayne, Pete and James "Boo" Mason.

She is survived by her daughter, Crystal Cunningham (Bill) and son, Cory Claytor (Carrie); grandchildren, Adam McKemy, Raeann and Kellan Carter, Zachary, Katie and Anna Claytor, Danielle Hards, Thomas and Will Cunningham; great-grandson, JT Graybill; brother, Zeke Mason (Norelle); numerous nieces and nephews; as well as a special sister-in-law, Wynelle Mason.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 23 at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dean Staton officiating.

The family invites all friends and family to come by the home at 164 E. 28th street following the service.
