Obituary for Kenneth Bruce Ryder Kenneth Bruce Ryder
Mountain Grove Resident Was Master Carpenter, Charter Member Of The Mountain Grove Volunteer Fire Department

Kenneth Bruce Ryder, 65, of Mountain Grove, Virginia passed away Friday, December 3, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born November 10, 1956 in Hot Springs, Virginia, the son of the late Kenneth George Ryder and Betty Jane Buzzard Ryder.

Mr. Ryder was employed with Martins Home Building with over 40 years of service as a master carpenter.

He was a Chartered Member of the Mountain Grove Volunteer Fire Department with 43 years of service. He served as Assistant Chief for 15 years, and the Treasurer and Secretary for 30 years. He was avid farmer who enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Leslie Franklin Ryder whom he married June 18, 1988; four children, Ivan Franklin and wife, Chelsea of Roanoke, Virginia, Sebrina Rexrode, Christina Ryder, and Morgan Ryder, all of Mountain Grove; six grandchildren, Braydon Rexrode, Jake and Luke Franklin, Benjamin Benedict, Quinton and Scotty Ryder; two brothers, Randall Ryder and Melanie of Goshen, Virginia, Keith Ryder of Porter, Texas; a sister, Karen Finel and husband, Michel of Warm Springs, Virginia; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the Mountain Grove Fire Department with Pastor Donald Lee Altizer officiating. Interment will be in Mountain Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call anytime at the home of Leslie Ryder in Mountain Grove.
