Obituary for William Barker Fleming Jr. William Barker Fleming Jr.
Retired Westvaco Millright Was Vietnam Veeteran, Hoke Chapel United Methodist Church Member

Mr. William Barker Fleming Jr., age 75, of Covington, Virginia, passed away Monday, December 13, 2021 at his residence.

He was the husband of Lois Marie McAllister Fleming.

Mr. Fleming was born February 22, 1946, the son of the late William Barker Fleming, Sr. and Georgia Sartain Fleming.

He served his country as a member of the United States Naval Air Division during Vietnam for four years then went on to serve in the reserves for more than twenty years.

Bill was employed as a millwright by Westvaco for forty-five years before his retirement.

He was a member of Hoke Chapel United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, Lois, Mr. Fleming is survived by a son, William Baker Fleming, III of Covington; a daughter, Brenda Gail Fleming Crumb of Beckley, WV; seven grandchildren, Benjamin Crumb, Samantha Crumb, Ariel Fleming, Jacob William Fleming, Katelyn Fleming, Hayley Rose Fleming and Rayland Fleming; a great grandchild, Oliver; two sisters, Patricia Fleming Amos and husband, Roger and Ruth Fleming; and two brothers, Owen Fleming and Gary Fleming.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Fleming was preceded in death by a brother, David Fleming.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 2021 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Hollenbeck officiating.
