Former Maxwelton Resident Dies At Age 53

Brian F. Anderson, 53, of Murfreesboro, TN, formerly of Maxwelton, WV, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN.

Brian was born in Mt. Prospect, IL, but he spent the majority of his childhood growing up in Maxwelton, WV.

He was a 1987 graduate of Greenbrier East High School in Fairlea, WV, where he was on the football and wrestling teams. He was well-known and will be remembered by his friends by his nickname, "(The) Flooge".

Brian worked over 25 years in the construction field in many aspects, including superintendent. He moved around a few times before he made his home in Tennessee, where he has been for over 20 years. He had a passion for coaching recreational football and soccer.

Brian is survived by his wife, Andrea Gilley Anderson; his three children, Christian Anderson, Gabby (Dustin) Evans, and Dustin Anderson. He had one grandson, Jackson Evans and two step-daughters, Olivia and Ella Locher, all of Murfreesboro, TN; one brother and sister-in-law, Brad and Missy Anderson; niece, Kelsie Anderson and nephew, Kamon Anderson of Frankford, WV.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Harold F. Anderson, Jr. of Augusta, GA and Patricia O'Brien Anderson Light and Jack E. Light of Maxwelton, WV.

The Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home handed the arrangements.
