Obituary for Doris Amanda Hess Womeldorf Doris Amanda Hess Womeldorf
Lexington Resident Worked At Bierer's Pharmacy For More Than 45 Years

Surrounded by those she loved and in the comfort of her home, Doris Amanda Hess Womeldorf, 95, was called home to the Lord on February 13, 2022.

Doris was born to the late Robert L. Hess and Nina Franklin Hess in Lexington, Virginia in 1926.

Known and beloved by many, Doris dedicated her life to service. Beyond her many contributions to the community, Doris was known and will forever be remembered for her jolly demeanor. She positively influenced those around her with her laughter and smile.

Doris worked at Bierer's Pharmacy for more than 45 years. She supported the VFW Auxiliary, Adopt a Highway, and the Kerrs Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Doris volunteered at Kendal of Lexington, the American Red Cross, and the VA Hospital for many years. Her steadfast faith led Doris to the Timber Ridge A. R. Presbyterian Church, where she was an active and devoted member.

Predeceased in death by her late husband, Bruce D. Womeldorf Jr.

Doris is survived by her sister, Mary Florence of La Jolla, Calif.; her daughter, Sally Anderson of Sevierville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Timber Ridge ARP Church conducted by Pastor Ron Ellis.

Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home.
