Obituary for Lewis Clark Sr. Lewis Clark Sr.
Fairfield Resident Owned Boiler, Excavation Businesses; Was Mountain View Pentecostal Church Member

In the early hours of a new day, surrounded by his loved ones, a much loved family man, a caring friend, and a respected neighbor passed quietly from this life to his new home in glory. Lewis Clark Sr., age 83, of Fairfield, Virginia, passed away on February 19, 2022.

As one of 13 children, he was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Alva Clark, and his loving wife, Alice Faye Clark.

He is survived by his children, Lewis H. Clark Jr. (Brad) of Roanoke, Shawn Kevin Clark (Charity) of Buena Vista, Lewis Marcum (Katina) of Buena Vista, and Krista Hostetter (Larry) of Fairfield; grandchildren, Shawn Clark, Brian Clark, Allison Mclain, Trenton Mclain, Lawrence Hostetter, Kirkland Campbell (Andrew), Hanna Marcum, Emma Marcum and Sage Marcum; three great-grandchildren, Elan Clark, Weston Campbell and baby boy, Mclain on the way; and special friends, CCM Hunt Club; and special pets, hounds, Pretty Boy, Pretty Girl, Trump and his cat, Eggroll.

Lewis was an active member of Mountain View Pentecostal Church for many years. With a reputation as being "one of the toughest and hardest working men I've ever known," he owned and operated his own boiler and excavation businesses in addition to being employed by Rockbridge County Schools.

An avid bear hunter and renowned houndsman, his skills as a "the real deal" and the success of his dogs has earned him the highest respect throughout the bear hunting circles across the country.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22 at Buena Vista Pentecostal Church. A memorial service will follow immediately after visitation with conducted by the Rev. Sheldon Sorrels. All attendees are asked to take prescribed COVID precautions.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
