Janet Webster Yowell, 75, of Raphine, Virginia, died Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Rockbridge Community Hospital.

Born September 21, 1946 in Richmond, she was a daughter of the late Edmund Byron Webster Jr. and Alma Pernie Tilley Webster.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Buck Webster, Roxie Webster and Raymond Webster and her sister, Barbara Mathews.

A loving wife and devoted mother, Jan is survived by her husband, William Andrew Yowell Ill; son, Charlie Yowell and wife, Lily of Raleigh and their daughters, Chelsea and Sawyer; son, Tyler Yowell of Raphine; brother, Ron Webster and wife, Regina of North Chesterfield; stepsons, Andy Yowell of Richmond and his daughters, Katie, Megan and Julie and Lee Yowell of Richmond and his daughters, Lilly and Ella; and numerous nephews and nieces.

In 1983, Jan received a bachelor's degree in building construction from Virginia Tech. She spent 12 years working in the building construction business and recently retired after six years as the voting general registrar for Lexington.

Due to her love of gardening and spring time, a celebration of her life will be held at her home on April 30.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jan's name may be sent to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank at P. O. Box 937, Verona, VA 24482-0937.
