Clara Bell Davis Via, age 77, of 1505 Richmond Street, Selma, Virginia died Friday, February 25, 2022 at her residence.

She was born April 11, 1944 in Beckley, West Virginia to the late James Madison Davis and Amie Wright Davis Bush.

She was retired owner of Clara's Alterations in Covington and a member of Iron Gate Community Church.

She enjoyed sewing and watching her grandsons play ball. She loved yard work and vacationing at Myrtle Beach and Pigeon Forge.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Edward "Bud" Davis and a sister, Lula Meadows.

Clara is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard Wayne Via of Selma; two sons, Ricky Via and his wife, Michelle of West Gate and Brent Via of Selma; two grandsons, Garrett and Gavin Via; two nieces, Diane Plumley and Shelva Via and a nephew, Clarence Meadows.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor with Reverend Edith Snedegar officiating. There will be no formal visitation, but friends may come by the funeral home at any time during normal business hours.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Iron Gate Community Church, 807 Kanawha Trail, Covington, VA 24426 or the American Cancer Society, 1700 MacCorkle Ave. SE, Third Floor, Charleston, WV 24314.
