Elnora Leone Foster Carter, age 82, of 1016 Staunton Street, Selma, Virginia, died Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at her residence.

She was born July 4, 1939 in Rensselaer, Indiana to the late Raymond W. Foster and Leone Hancock Foster.

She was a homemaker throughout her life and enjoyed music, reading, yardwork, bluegrass and Native American jewelry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer T. Carter; a son, Chris Robin Arrington; and a daughter, Tracy Ann Arrington.

She is survived by a son, Neal L. Arrington of Goose Creek, SC; a daughter, Lauri Freeman and husband, Mike of Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Willa Balliett of Clifton Forge; a brother, Raymond Foster of Scottsdale, AZ; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. No formal services are scheduled.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, handled the arrangements.
