Sharon Faye Hoke Malcom, 76, of 808 Oneida Trail, Covington, Virginia died Wednesday, April 6, 2022 in Lewis Gale Medical Center.

Mrs. Malcom was born March 24, 1946 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Elbie D. Hoke Sr. and Wilma Patty Buckland Hoke.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Elbie Wayne Hoke, daughter-in-law, Sherry Malcom and brother-in-law, Vallin H. Malcom.

She was a member of the Covington Moose Lodge #610, enjoyed playing bingo, and a past member of the Boiling Spring Fire & Rescue Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Hunter L. Malcom Jr. of Covington; four daughters, Sharon Boguess and husband, Alvin, Mary Brown, and Gloria Rowsey and husband, Danny, all of Covington, and Terry Dixon and husband, Steve of Trinity, NC; two sons, Hunter "Toby" Malcom and Jody Malcom and fiancé, Tonya Fridley, all of Covington; fourteen grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Eppard of NC and Vanessa Robinson of Pigeon Forge, TN; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes her body has been cremated.

A service will be held at a later date.

The funeral arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
