Lester Lyle Pugh, 79, of Buena Vista, Virginia, went to his heavenly home on Monday, May 2, 2022.

Born December 21, 1942 in Buena Vista, he was the son of the late Lester Morris Pugh and Gladys Nuckols Pugh.

He was also preceded in death by sister, Maxine, and special friend, Ed Jackowski.

Lyle had a love for his family, children, and love of his life, Joyce. He listened to country and gospel music, watched westerns, baseball and basketball games. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Virginia Cavaliers. He loved his Bible, gardening and playing softball in his younger years. He made up poems and songs, sang and prayed regularly. He would do anything for his family and friends.

Lyle, as he was known to his family and friends, is survived by his wife, Joyce Coffey Pugh; children, Teresa Pugh Braford (David), Terry Pugh, and Steven Pugh; grandchildren, Josh Braford, Chelsey Braford, Ryan Braford, Marleigh Pugh, Sierra Camden (Forest), Hayley Pugh, and Jacob Pugh (Becca); great-grandchildren, Celia Camden, Paisley Pugh, Dawson Pugh, Emma Pugh, and Liam Baird; brothers, Ernest Pugh and Barry Pugh (Linda); sisters, Janet Bryant and Sheila Pooley (Bryan); mother-in-law, Myrtle Coffey; many nieces, nephews, and special fur babies, Raven and Stewie.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, May 9 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel by the Rev. W. David Bain. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
