Obituary for Autumn Ruth Hunsicker Autumn Ruth Hunsicker
Buena Vista Resident Dies At Age 19

Autumn Ruth Hunsicker of Buena Vista, Virginia, died on Monday, May 9, 2022, after a long fight with osteosarcoma. She was just 19 years old.

Autumn was born March 14, 2003 in Newport, Vermont at home. From the moment she was born, her inner joy shone brightly. Everyone loved her instantaneously. As Autumn grew, the more endearing people found her. Even when she was at her most visibly ill, she never had a shortage of smiles. Autumn found beauty in things that others often overlooked. To describe Autumn as determined would be an understatement. She was courageous and brave to the end.

Autumn was a home-schooled student who was steadfast in her studies. Even while undergoing chemo, she continued her education. Autumn graduated high school two months early in March of 2022.

Autumn enjoyed playing in the snow and equally enjoyed collecting seashells on the beach. In 2017 Autumn was in remission and granted a wish. She chose to visit her favorite beach for collecting, Waikiki beach in Oahu, Hawaii.

Autumn had a real love for digital art on her tablet, books, rocks and Legos. Autumn had a desire to work at Legoland as a master builder.

Autumn liked the fun tactile elements of a caterpillar. She also had a love for butterflies which we now find so fitting as they represent the very essence of what transformation brings. A path that emerges into sunlight with wings like that of an angel.

Autumn is survived by her mother, Jennifer, her Meme, Barbara, Grandpa Tommy, her sister, Hannah, aunts, Jennifer, Shannon and cousin, Lyra.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the Samuel's Supper (www.samuelssupper.org) in Autumn's honor.www.samuelssupper.org Funeral services were private.www.samuelssupper.org Arrangements were handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
