Obituary for Brenda Faith Weikle Brenda Faith Weikle
Former Covington Resident Dies In North Carolina At Age 81

Former Covington, Virginia resident, Brenda Faith Weikle, passed away at her home at Brookridge Retirement Community in Winston-Salem, NC on May 15, 2022 after an extended illness.

Brenda was born on August 27, 1940 in New Market, Virginia to Stanley and Virginia Salyards. After graduating from New Market High School in 1958, Brenda moved to Maryland and began working as a secretary for the FBI. It was during this time that she met her husband, Marcus Weikle.

Mark and Brenda were married on August 27, 1966. They moved to Covington in February of 1969 where they lived until moving to Winston-Salem in 2016.

Brenda was a full-time mom to her daughter, Shawn.

She was a member of Temple Baptist Church where she was active in many aspects of the church including the library, teaching bible school and serving on the Young at Heart and the Kitchen committees. Brenda was also very creative and enjoyed a number of hobbies which included ceramics, cross stitching and crocheting.

Brenda's pride and joy were her two grandsons, Matthew and Michael. She truly was the World's Greatest Nanny.

In addition to her husband, daughter and grandsons, Brenda is survived by her sister, Anna Lou Furrow of Shady Springs, WV. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Hergett and Doris Bennett and one brother, Teddy Salyards.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2022 at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Hartsfield officiating. Entombment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at Temple Baptist Church.
