Obituary for Wesley (Dusty) Eliot Rhodes Wesley (Dusty) Eliot Rhodes
Former Westinghouse Electrical Engineer Was Lexington Resident

Wesley (Dusty) Eliot Rhodes of Lexington, Virginia, died peacefully at his home on November 27, 2022 at the age of 89 with his beloved wife, Shirley (Rody) Rhodes by his side.

Dusty was born in Richmond on June 18, 1933 to Wesley Eliot Rhodes Sr. and Juanita Ruby Hutchins.

Dusty attended Benedictine High School in Richmond and Virginia Military Institute. He proudly served in the United States Army Signal Corps and married his love, Rody in 1957.

Dusty had a three-decade career as an electrical engineer at Westinghouse Electric Corporation where he worked as a special sales representative.

Dusty loved being PopPop, playing and listening to guitar music, hunting, fishing, playing golf and shooting trap.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley "Rody" Rhodes; his three children, Steven (Sue) Rhodes, Wesley (Maria) Rhodes, and Katherine "Scottie" (Paul) Belanger; his six grandchildren, Stephanie Blair Belanger, Philip Evan Rhodes, Courtney (Hunter) Campbell, Aaron Mitchell Belanger, Brett Eliot Rhodes, and Garrett Norman Rhodes; and two greatgrandchildren, Braxton Cody Rhodes and Brynn Kay Rhodes.

A memorial celebration will be held on December 16 at Harrison's Funeral Home at 11 a.m., followed by a graveside burial at Timber Ridge A. R. Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

In remembrance of Dusty, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy consider contributions to Rockbridge Area Hospice in Dusty's name.
