Clifton Forge Resident Dies At Age 58

Darryl Lewis Caldwell, age 58, of 608 ½ West Ridgeway Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Sunday, March 19, 2023.

Darryl was born September 20, 1964 in Clifton Forge to Guy Lewis Caldwell and Martha Persinger Caldwell Unroe.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, and loved spending time with all kids.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lucille and James Persinger and paternal grandparents, Hezzie and Gertrude Caldwell, and an aunt, Carol Ann Unroe.

He is survived by his father and step-mother, Guy Caldwell and wife, Doris of Clifton Forge; his mother and step-father, Martha and Steve Unroe of Clifton Forge; a daughter, Destiny Caldwell and fiancé, Mark Bush of Clifton Forge; a son, Dustin Caldwell and wife, Amanda of Roanoke; four sisters, Tamara L. Caldwell of Clifton Forge, Tina Caldwell or North Carolina, Stephanie Carter and husband, Billy of Eagle Rock; and Ami Hale and husband, Brian of Manassas; a brother, David Unroe and wife, Anita of Clifton Forge; four grandchildren, Lilly Caldwell, Waylon Bush, Trinity Bush, and Chesney Bush; nieces and nephews, Zachary Caldwell, Joshua Caldwell, Brittany Carter, and Hollie Carter; and special friends, Darin Nicely, Susan Wykle, and Brent Maccentelli.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Mr. Chris Fisher officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Special Olympics, Area 18, C/O Cindy Givens, 305 Craig Ave., Covington, VA 24426.
