Carl Oscar "Wool" Smith, 69, of Lexington, died Saturday, May 20, 2006 in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital.
Mr. Smith was born on December 30, 1936 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Betty Smith Parker.
He retired from the city of Lexington Public Works Department after 30 years of service.
Mr. Smith is survived by one son, Timothy Rogers Smith of Lexington; one daughter, Edith Mae Smith Mason of Buena Vista; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with pastor Gib Hale officiating. Burial will follow in the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington.
