Mary Frances Douglas Richardson, 71, of Buena Vista, died Monday, May 22, 2006 in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

She was born February 2, 1935 in Amherst County, daughter of the late King and Sally Kyle Douglas.

She was a member of the Christ Gospel Holiness Church and had been a custodian at Kling Elementary School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Richardson.

She is survived by her children: Carrie Long of Buena Vista, James E. Richardson, Jr. of Buena Vista, Ruby Singh of Richmond, Edward Charles Richardson of Buena Vista, Patricia Ann Singh of Lexington and Glen Dale Richardson of Buena Vista; 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; sisters: Juanita Haynes of Amherst, Shirley Dawson of Monroe, Pauline Douglas of Monroe and Betty Douglas of Amherst; brothers: Eugene Douglas of Madison Heights, Roy Douglas of Amherst, Joe Lewis Douglas of Amherst and Jersey Douglas of Amherst.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2006 from the graveside in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens with Rev. Tom Clark officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Lomax Funeral Home.
