Obituary for Charles Edward Parrish Charles Edward Parrish
Covington Resident Dies At Age 75

Entered into rest on October 19th, 2023 was Charles Edward Parrish.

Ed was born December 10th, 1947 in St. Albans, West Virginia to parents Paul and Mary Wells Parrish.

He was a 1965 graduate of Piketon High School in Piketon, Ohio. After high school, Ed enlisted in the U. S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Following his honorable discharge, he called several places home including Oak Ridge, TN, Emporia, KS, Augusta, GA, and Covington, VA.

While living in Augusta, Ed owned and operated Cherokee Fishing, out of the former Mike’s Marina on Clarks Hill Lake. His Sunday cookouts fed many Department of Natural Resources Officers and Columbia County Deputies. His love for the lake was only surpassed by his love of telling stories. If you heard one of Ed's stories, it likely wasn't for the first time. For the past thirty years Ed did his cooking and storytelling in Covington.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Paul David Parrish and John Richard Parrish; sister: Paula Jean Parrish; and nephew: Barry Alan Parrish.

He is survived by sons: Ryan Scott Parrish (Kandi) and David Craig Parrish (Alison); grandsons, John Duncan Parrish and William Edward Parrish; nephews, Bryan Parrish (Lori), John Preston Parrish, and Richard Lynn Parrish; nieces, Laura Parrish and Leigh Stubbs (John); and several great nieces and nephews; cousin, Sharon Pettit (Richard); and sister-in-law, Linnie Parrish.

In keeping with his wishes his body has been cremated.

A service will be at later date.

Arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.

Donations may be made to Aquinas High School at 1920 Highland Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904 or The Salvation Army of Covington at 115 S. Lexington Avenue, Covington, VA 24426.
