Obituary for Ralph Ray Thomas Ralph Ray Thomas
Army Veteran Was Neriah Baptist Church Member

Ralph Ray Thomas, 77, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, May 24, 2006 in the Salem VA Center.

Mr. Thomas was born on October 28, 1929 in Augusta County, a son of the late Kyle Marshall Thomas and Bertha Wilson Coffey Thomas.

He attended Rockbridge High School and was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany.

He attended Neriah Baptist Church and was a member of the Fairfield Senior Citizens.

Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dreama McGuire Thomas; one son, Steven W. Thomas, both of Fairfield; one daughter, Evelyn "Kay" Thomas Williams of Lexington; one brother, Carl D. Thomas of Buena Vista; six granchildren, eight great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2006 in the Timber Ridge ARP Cemetery with Rev. Bradley Mullinax officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Neriah Baptist Church, 7 Borden Grant Trail, Buena Vista, VA 24416, Alzheimer's Association Roanoke Salem Chapter, 2728 Colonial Avenue, Roanoke, VA 24015 or the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, Va. 23058-5216. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington.
