Frank Edward Hartless, 51, of Troy, Virginia, died Monday, June 12, 2006 in the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.

Mr. Hartless was born on June 25, 1954 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late James R. Hartless and Una Ramsey Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Carl Hartless and Robert Hartless.

Mr. Hartless is survived by one son, Karl Ayers of Richmond; one daughter, Melissa Smith of Chase City; two sisters: Linda Bayly-Smith and Bonnie Hartless Smith, both of Lexington; one brother, James Howard Hartless of Waldorf, MD; four grandchildren and his best friend, Elnora Brown.

Graveside services will be private in the Green Hill Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Arrangements are being handled by the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Service, Buena Vista.
