Nelson Lindberg Nicely, 78, of Lexington, died Saturday, July 29, 2006 in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Nicely was born January 30, 1928 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Harry Samuel Nicely and Gertrude Octavin Entsminger Nicely.

He was a member of the Lexington Baptist Church.

Mr. Nicely worked 18 years for the Clover Creamery and 23 years for Burlington Industries.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Masil Black and a brother, Clyde Nicely.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine Sensabaugh Nicely; two daughters: Katrina Octavia Starbuck and husband Greg of Lynchburg; Debra L. of Lexington; a brother, Eugene Nicely and wife Carolyn of Natural Bridge Station; a sister, Aleta Hall and husband Peachy of Lexington; two granddaughters, one great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Michael Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA. Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington.
