Lewisburg Resident, City National Bank Retiree and Lewisburg Baptist Church Member, Dies At Age 76

Donna Sue Napier Hanson, 76, of Lewisburg, West Virginia, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) Charleston, WV.

Born July 28, 1948, in Lewisburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late William (Bill) and Eva Mae Fisher Napier.

Donna retired from City National Bank, Lewisburg, WV (formerly Greenbrier Valley National Bank), and was a member of the Lewisburg Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Aubrey Layton Hanson, on December 24, 2024. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, William, Jr. (Billy) Napier, and her sister, Betty Napier Baker.

Survivors include her sisters, Carolyn Napier, Marie Napier, Joyce Clendenin (Roger), Diana Shafer (David), and brother, John Napier (Sharon). Also surviving are nieces, Kimberly Simpson (Wayne), Lori Shafer (Ricky Brown), Melissa Nass (Oswaldo), Michele Dowdy (Jeff), Lisa Abbott (Jay), and nephews T.R. Fuller (Amanda), Christopher Clendenin (Renee), and Stacy Billos. Also surviving are great nephews, Zachary Fuller, Hunter Fridley, Kaden Dowdy, and Parker Clendenin. Great nieces, Haley Dowdy, Abbie Fridley, Hannah, Alexis and Madison Fuller, Isabella, Aevary, and Keilah Nass.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, Lewisburg, WV, with Pastor Jonathan Comer officiating. Burial will follow the service in Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, Monday.
