Obituary for Sandra Hanna "Sandy" Mackey Sandra Hanna "Sandy" Mackey
Ronceverte Resident, Clifton Presbyterian Church Organist and Teacher, Dies At Age 84

Sandra Hanna "Sandy" Mackey, 84, of Ronceverte, West Virginia, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at the Springs Nursing and Rehab Center in Hot Springs, Virginia.

She was born February 23, 1941 in Spring Creek, West Virginia, the daughter of Ashford and Stella Powers Hanna.

Sandy was a member of Clifton Presbyterian Church since 1973, where she was the organist for over 37 years.

She had taught at Crichton Elementary School for 18 years.

Sandy was an avid racquetball player, bowler and gardener. She has played piano/organ for countless weddings and school functions over the years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Other than her parents, Sandy was preceded by her husband, Harry M. Mackey (2010); son, Charles D. Mackey (1985); and six siblings.

Surviving Sandy are her sons, Stephen (Sherry) of Franklin, TN., Brian of Ronceverte; grandchildren, Leo and Ava Mackey, both of Franklin, TN. and many nieces and nephews.

It was Sandy's wishes that she be cremated with no services.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donating to "Walk to End Alzheimer's" in your area; or to the Charles Mackey Memorial Park, c/o Clifton Presbyterian Church, 16512 Seneca Trail North, Maxwelton, WV 24957.

The Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
