Lexington Resident, Vietnam War Veteran and Norfolk Naval Shipyard Retiree, Dies At Age 78
Percival (Percy) Smith Johnson, 78, of Lexington, Virginia, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025.
Born May 25, 1947, he was the son of the late Hughey E. Johnson and Margaret Golda Smith Veney.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, Percy served two terms during the Vietnam war, including one tour of combat. He retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and was a member of First Baptist Church.
He is survived by daughters, grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, siblings, and many relatives.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 25, at Harrison Funeral Home.
