Was Owner Of Ferguson's Grocery

Dorothy Anna Reid Ferguson, 85, died Tuesday, December 19, 2006 in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

She was born Octobe 10, 1921 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Elmer Roy Reid and Martha Blanche Moore Reid.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Mack Ferguson; a son, Stanley M. Ferguson; two brothers: Thomas E. Reid and Roy M. Reid; and three sisters: Blanche R. Hotinger (her twin), Frances R. Altizer, and Mary R. Ferguson.

Mrs. Ferguson was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Ferguson was a member of the Falling Spring Presbyterian Church, an honorary life member of the Presbyterian women, and was owner and former operator of Ferguson's Grocery.

She is survived by a son, Kenneth Z. (Buddy) Ferguson and his wife, Dana M. of Natural Bridge; two daughters: Brenda F. Shiley and her husband, Daniel L. of Natural Bridge; and Loretta F. Thompson and her husband, Thomas L. of Natural Bridge Station; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2006 at the Falling Spring Presbyterian Church with Rev. Brian Weger officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2006 at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
