Matilda (Tillie) Huffman Paxton, 78, of Buena Vista, went to be with her Lord December 27, 2006.

She was born December 8, 1928 in Rockbridge County, the daughter of the late Rena Claytor Huffman and charles L. Huffman.

She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Buena Vista.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Paxton; five sisters: Polly Alford, Christine Hall, Mary Campbell, Violet Bryant and Margaret Albertoli; eight brothers: Harry, Gardner, Sheridan, Robert, Francis (Hank), Warren, Basil, Floyd (Booker) Huffman.

Mrs. Paxton is survived by two sons (twins): Larry and his wife, Louise, of Zionsville, Indiana, and Barry and his wife, Joy, of Amelia, VA; one granddaughter, Penni Paxton Cox and her husband, Tom; two great grandsons, Austin Paxton Cox and Matthew Thomas Cox of Powhatan, VA; a brother, Russell (Buck) and wife, Susie Huffman of Natural Bridge; special nieces: Dolly Cash and husband, Jim Wagner and Molly Hamilton and husband, Ralph; special relative and friend, Debi Ruley of Lexington.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2006 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Deborah Koontz and the Rev. Bill Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to St. John's United Methodist Church, Buena Vista, VA or the Rockbridge Area Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2006 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, Virginia.
