Obituary for Fredericka Lee Elliot Fredericka Lee Elliot
Glasgow Resident, Longtime Sayre Enterprises Employee, Dies At Age 80

Fredericka Lee Elliot, 80, of Glasgow, Virginia, died Sunday, March 15, 2026, at LewisGale Hospital.

She was born to the late Russell Lee Elliott and Janie Berniece Diamond-Elliott on July 1, 1945, in Lexington.

She was a lifelong resident of Natural Bridge.

Fredericka (affectionately known as Niecie and or Leecie) worked in the garment and seamstress industry the majority of her adult life. She was last employed at Sayre Enterprises. Fredericka continued to work there until just after turning 80 years old.

Outside of work, Fredericka enjoyed the company and amusement times with her mother, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings. Most notable, when her mother, Janie, became totally blind in 1994, Fredericka, in the prime of her life, willingly and without complaints, stepped in and became her caregiver, constant companion, and guardian angel who cared for and protected her until Janie's passing in 2014.

Fredericka was preceded in death by her parents, Janie and Lee; her son William N. Elliott; brother, Edison E. Diamond, and sister, Deborah O. Elliott.

Fredericka leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Tanya E. Elliott-Payne (Michael) of Roanoke; brothers, Na'im Ziyad (Na'imah) of Milwaukee, Wis., Gregory Ziyad (Rochelle) of Columbia, Tenn., Carlton Elliott (Linda) of Yorktown, and Quintin Elliott (Emily) of Urbana; sisters, Sharon A. Tyree of Natural Bridge, Vanessa Nicholas of Rockbridge, and Ethel Nicholas of Maryland; grandchildren, Anntavia Pierson, Antonio Pierson, William Nathaniel Elliott Jr., Aaliyah Fredericka Elliott, Alexis Monique Elliott, Makayla Jade Elliott, and Jimitrius Nathaniel Elliott; great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, March 23, at First Baptist Church in Natural Bridge by the Rev. Ryan Hubbard. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
