Lexington Resident, Longtime W&L Geology Professor, Dies At Age 86
Fred Schwab, 86, of Lexington, Virginia, died Sunday morning, March 15, 2026.
He taught geology at Washington and Lee University for 36 years, retiring in 2003.
The family will be holding a celebration of life this Saturday, March 21, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Hotchkiss Alumni House at 128 Letcher Ave. in Lexington, Virginia, on the W&L campus.
