Sally Lourena Staton Hamm, 68, of Oronoco, died Saturday, February 24, 2007.

She was born August 14, 1938 in Amherst County, daughter of Mack Staton and Nannie White Staton.

Mrs. Hamm was a member of the Oronoco Church of the Brethren.

She operated a grocery store in Oronoco for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Larry J. Hamm; children: Kathy and Robert Tomlin of Amherst; Cindy and Jon Berry of Buena Vista; Debra and Randy Stinnett of Buena Vista; Mark and Andrea Hamm of Amherst; Larry (Buckie) and Melissa Hamm of Lexington; Tammy and David Hickman of Buena Vista; brothers and sisters: Thelma Smith of Buchanan; Roger and Pam Staton of Glasgow; William and Darlene Staton of Buena Vista; W. K. Staton of Vesuvius; Shirley and Ronnie Reid of Buena Vista; Delores and Travis Robert of Montana; Arlene and Dave Fox of Buena Vista; Vernon Staton of Buena Vista; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2007 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel, Buena Vista, with Rev. Arnold Bradley and Rev. Hugh Bumgarner officiating. Burial followed in the Oronoco Brethren Cemetery. The family received friends from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2007 at the funeral home. The family suggests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
