Lewis Price Sifford age 65, of Fincastle, Virginia, was welcomed into the arms of his Savior on August 9, 2026.

As lifelong Mill Creek native he spent all 65 years in the same house, on the same farm. Whether he was tending to his cows, tending his garden or making hay he always enjoyed his time working on the family's land. If he wasn't stirring the political pot, he was conning friends into helping stir apple butter.

His fulltime job was being a real estate agent with Wampler in Daleville always stating, "I can sell you a house, but I can't help you move," proud of the fact he has never had another place to call home.

He leaves behind his beloved son, Jim, who was always by his side and truly his dad's greatest sidekick. Jim did everything he could to make sure his dad had whatever he needed and went to great lengths to make him happy and give him peace of mind. He took care of the things Lewis no longer could.

Jim's love for his dad was shown in little and big things and always putting his dad first. Their bond was more that that of father and son, they were best friends-side by side through it all. As well as Jim's wife, Kim, who became his daughter, not daughter-in-law, who spent countless hours caring for him and providing skilled nursing care for him to remain at home as long as he could as she was by his side until the end.

He also leaves behind his only granddaughter, Maddie, who he always had in his lap riding the tractor, she was his gardening buddy, tractor washing buddy and his own personal nurse. Maddie was the light of Lewis's life, and he was proud to share her stories with anyone who would listen as she was his pride and joy. His two sisters, Debra and Sally, provided him with exceptional attention and care, spending endless hours doing anything he requested no matter how silly. He also leaves behind a long list of wonderful friends, blessed to be loved by so many.

As an active member of Mill Creek Baptist Church, he leaves behind an amazing church family whose prayers held him up until the end. Honored to be a Mason, he cherished the traditions and brotherhood given to him by the Boone Masonic Lodge.

Some of his greatest blessings were his friendships that became a brotherhood as they stood by him until the end. They made sure he never went without anything but mostly constant companionship: Wayne Kuykendall, Fulton Waid, Clint Switzer, Jimmy Coble and Dale Bare.

Memorial services will be held at Mill Creek Baptist Church on Sunday, August 16th, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. After the conclusion of the service there will be desserts in the Fellowship Hall.
