Bacova Resident, Longtime Bath County School Teacher, Dies At Age 93
Natalie Mae Cauley, 93, of Bacova, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at her residence.
She was born April 16, 1933, in Hot Springs, Virginia, the daughter of the late Lewis Henry Polane and Elmer Kirby Polane.
Mrs. Cauley was a school teacher at Bath County Public Schools where she taught typing and shorthand for 30 years.
She was a member of St. Lukes Episcopal Church.
She was a loving mother.
She is survived by her son, Steven Wayne Cauley of Hot Springs, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerome “Jerry” Polane and Ronald Polane.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the Warm Springs Cemetery with Reverend Katherine Doyle officiating.
The McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
