Obituary for Frances Reed Yeardley Frances Reed Yeardley
Lexington Resident, Exceptional Equine Competitor and Social Security Disability Reporter, Dies At Age 71

Frances Reed Yeardley, 71, of Lexington, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home Friday, August 7, 2026.

Born November 23, 1954, she was the youngest daughter of four children of Lawrence and Mary Carver Reed Yeardley.

Frances had a love for horses. She was a Federation Equestre International Competitor, trained with the Lippizaners, received the United States Dressage Federation bronze and silver medal awards for Grand Prix, a United States Dressage Federation level L judge, and a dressage instructor.

Frances was also a social security disability reporter.

Surviving are her life partner of 29 years, Rick Tufaro of Lexington; son, Andrew Lawrence Yeardley; daughter-in-law, Renee Bernadette Yeardley; grandson, William Colby Yeardley of Woodland Park, Colo.; and sister, Mary Carver Yeardley of Charleston, W.Va.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
