Navy Veteran Was Union View Advent Christian Church Trustee, Deacon

Donald Philip Weade, 78, of Lexington, died Sunday, April 15, 2007 at his home after a long illness.

He was born March 19, 1929 in Lexington, a son of the late Robert Wilson Weade and Mable Staton Weade.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jane W. Friedhoff.

He was a member of the Union View Advent Christian Church where he served as trustee and deacon; VFW Post 1499, having served in the U. S. Navy and Millwright Local 1402.

He is survived by his wife of 40 yeaers, Edith Hall Weade; a son, Gary A. Weade, Lexington; a brother, Ronald L. Weade and wife, Shirley of Richmond; a step-daughter, Sandra Chaplin of Lexington; step-grandson, Michael L. Chaplin and wife, Kathy; two very special great grandchildren: Kaitlin and Conner Chaplin of Conway, South Carolina; several nieces and nephews and a special nephew, Dean Bogar.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Pastor Robert W. Daniel offiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Rockbridge Area Hospice, 315 Myers St., Lexington or the Effinger Fire Department, 2824 Collierstown Road, Lexington. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia. Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington.
