Sheldon Gene Snead, 62, of Natural Bridge, died Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at Carilion Roanoke Hospital.

He was born January 29, 1945 in Covington, a son of the late Leonard Snead and Mary Virginia Wickline Snead.

He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army.

He was a retired electrician for Mohawk Industries.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Snead; children: Shannon Snead and wife, Christie; Timmy Snead of Buena Vista; Sheldon Gene Snead, Jr. and Sarah Renea Snead of Natural Bridge; a brother, David Snead and wife, Cheri of Lynchburg; special friend, Greg Austin; mother-in-law, Serena Austin; and a nephew, Matt Snead of Lynchburg.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at the Faith Baptist Church, Arnold's Valley, with pastor Terry Bostic officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2007 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista.
