Industrial Chemist Grew Up In Lexington, Graduated From W&L

Jerome Edward Kahn, age 48, of Eugene, Oregon, died on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 following a brief illness.

Jerry, with his wife Vicki, and his children Lee, Adrienne, and Margo moved to Eugene eleven years ago, to continue his career as an industrial chemist with the Forrest Paint Company.

Jerry grew up in Lexington, Virginia and graduated from Washington and Lee University.

He was an avid bicyclist and outdoorsman and a devoted father and husband.

In addition to his wife and children Jerry is survived by his brother David of Junction City, Oregon; his sister and brother-in-law, Alyson and Seth Gordon and their two children, of Newnan, Georgia; his mother, Betty Kahn Taylor of Lexington, Virginia and her husband George Pryde; and his mother and father-in-law, Rita and Morris Blumenthal of Monroe, Louisiana.

He was predeceased by his father, Leonel L. Kahn, Jr.

A memorial service honoring Jerry's life was held on June 2 in Eugene. Contributions may be made to Hillel, care of director Joan Robins at Washington and Lee University, or to a charity of your choice.
